Tech choices take too long

I’d forgotten what a pain it is to get text online efficiently…

Here I’m trying to use Eleventy to produce a statically generated site. I like using Markdown to write: but I find it takes forever to get to a simple situation for writing, where the engine doesn’t get in the way of mental flow.

Previous to Eleventy, I experimented with Hugo and Gatsby. Neither proved easy, and I spent my time getting them to work rather than writing. Eleventy though seems to work reasonably.

For the final project, I’d like to use React and / or React Native: hopefully this won’t take too much time…

…from this, a design consideration for whatever I make: tools should not demand attention; should not get in the way of flow.
